About Us
North Cascades Child Development Center is a non-profit, full-service childcare center with locations serving Skagit and Whatcom County. NCCDC daycare serves children aged 1 and walking through age 12. Owned and operated by North Cascade Christian Fellowship, NCCDC is an extension of the church’s ministry to the community and is licensed by the state of Washington. NCCDC’s operations are overseen by our Director Ashley Geist.
Our Philosophy
We believe children are a heritage and reward from God, made in His image, and He has a special plan for each life. Our program is based on the understanding that children learn most effectively through a concrete, play-oriented approach to childhood education. Learning in young children is the result of interaction between the child’s thoughts and experiences with materials, ideas, and people. These experiences should match the child’s developing abilities, while also challenging the child’s interest and understanding.
Our Religion Statement
The curriculum and program at NCCDC include stories from the Bible, Biblical concepts, values, and songs with religious content. We encourage kindness, thankfulness, helpfulness, sharing, and good moral standards.
